Hi all, any help on this would be great. I create a piece of geo, any piece. i go to scale or move or rotate and try to select a handle and what looks like a selection box appears (see Pic below). you know ants in a square configuration, its larger as i drag out and vanishes when i release the mouse, tried deleting prefs to test, same deal, uninstalled and reinstalled same thing.

What am i missing.

Thanks again for any help

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting! Did this behavior start just recently? Or was it present in earlier versions of Maya as well?

I have a couple of suggestions that may help us narrow in on the root cause of the problem:

  1. Check your graphics card driver - make sure the card itself is certified for 2019, and that the driver is up to date
  2. Review the suggestions in this article: Maya manipulators not working correctly
  3. Reset your preferences to default - this will restore everything back to factory settings

Let us know if any of the suggestions above resolve the issue 🙂 If the problem persists, I would be happy to help until we get it figured out!

Switching the viewport 2.0 to Direct X fixed the problem. Maya 2018 did not have the problem on the same machine, neither did 2017. It appeared in 2019.

Thanks for the suggestions,

Have a great day!!!!!!
