cannot see the difference between unselected edges and selected edges

Hi. I am having a real predictiment, when selecting polygon egdes. As soon as I select the first edge and continue to select more edges, the edge hilight color is the same color of unselected edges. Is there a way to change this??? I use to remember back in Maya 2012, the selected edges would change to a different color. Why was this removed?

It wasn't removed...by default, selected edges should turn orange.

You can customize colors by clicking Windows->Settings/Preferences->Color Settings.
