Cannot see faces inside UV editor

Hello guys!

I'm making an UV of my model, but little things happen...

First of all, why are those edges separated?

I want them to be attached inside the UV projection

Then, I have this one:

How do I show those faces in the UV? They look like a circle...

Thanks in advance!

for your edges: they can´t join. at one point you get seems and there is nothing you can do about it.

your faces look like you did a planar mapping facing down the y axis. try a cylindrical mapping for them.

I used a spherical mapping instead, and that looks good 😄

Also, I heard around the video-tutorials that I should only concentrate the UV of my model only in the top-right square.

Why?

because that 0,1 uv space is the area on which your images get applied by default and start to tile. even when there is a lot of stuff you can do with the other space around is think for the beginning it´s better to focus on this area. even more when you want to paint your textures in photoshop and get an exact placement.
