Bonus tools auto unwrap not working?

when I open the auto unwrap tool and it asks me to select an object, the continue button is not clickable. This only happens sometimes, at seemingly random intervals. Sometimes it starts to work again after closing and re-opening Maya, sometimes no matter how much I do it,  it doesn't work with an object in particular, and then start to work again the next day...or not. does anybody have the same issue? How can I fix it?

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

Generally you need to make sure you have an object selected when you first select Auto Unwrap then it may prompt you with and option box which I always deselect then reselect my model before pressing enter tool.

From there you simply select the edges you want to be the seams and hit continue.

If this doesn't help, please post a video/screenshots of your issue so I can get a better idea of what's happeining

If you need a video capturing program, Screencast is a great option that we use here at Autodesk

Finally, if none of this helps you could try uninstalling/reinstalling Bonus Tools and see if that helps!

I suppose I forgot to mention some things.

First, I did select the model BEFORE entering the tool, but it seems that that bug happen less is you select it after (for some reason)

I don't think you need a video/screenshot to see what I'm talking about.

the "continue" and "cancel" buttons are on the screen, it's just that clicking them does nothing, and it deselects my model like I am clicking an empty space rather a button. And trying to reenter the tool in this state just prompt a message that says that I'm already in the tool, meaning that at this point, the only option is to restart Maya.

I'll try to reinstall the bonus tools and see if it's more than a temporary solution.

know that it is absolutely NOT resolved it, in fact, got worse, now it just NEVER work instead of sometimes...

I have no idea how to fix this issue now.

Do other tools in Bonus Tools work and its just the unwrap not working or does all of Bonus Tools not work at all now?

When you get a chance, can you please post a video of the unwrap tool not working so I can get a better idea of what's happening on your machine?
