Basic Transform Tools not working, can't select axes, grips or rotation rings

I am running Maya 2020.2, but I am not able to click onto the axis arrows nor the rotation rings within the Transform tools.  I have the GeForce 330 M graphics card, which I hope would be sufficient for these basic tasks.  Is there a patch or settings fix available to correct this?

Delete the Maya preference folder and restarting Maya solves many issues. You may try deleting the preference folder by going in to documents, Maya version and preference folder.

Hi,

I would suspect the graphics driver.

The first thing to try is going into Windows  > Settings/Preferences > Preferences > Display and changing the viewport 2.0 rendering engine (at the bottom) to DirectX 11 which is more forgiving with many graphics cards.

Otherwise, you can check the link below to see if there is a certified driver for your graphics card:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/learn-explore/caas/simplecontent/content/maya-certified-...

There is no entry for the GeForce 330 M but Maya 2020.2 but driver version 452.06 is recommended for all NVidia cards so if you want to update your driver that is the version to use.

Thanks again, switching to the DirectX 11 rendering engine worked to solve additional issues, now the functions are back to normal.
