I m following one of the tutorials on DT for modelling in maya and currently I have a shape that is shown in the pic below. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to add thickness to this all around ? It doesn't seem I can use a simple extrude because the geometry flows in several directions and that throws it off. In the tutorial they do a simple border-edge extrude but that just gives an illusion of thickness. Does maya have a thickness tool like MODO where it can just "plump up" the geometry or do I have to do edge extrude, then fill hole and split ?
