Hey Guys,
I'm a absolute beginner with Autodesk Maya but I worked a lot with Blender.
For me it seems Blender is much easier to use.
So, here's my problem.
I want to import a model to Unity but the model I've got is a .dae File.
The Edges are visible and I want to smooth them out.
Unfortunately a lot of vertices are not connected to theothers and I need to merge them first.
In BLENDER it's kinda easy: Edit Mesh => select all vertices => Remove Doubles.
It will connect all not connected Doubles.
After that, I just need click on "Recalculate Normals" and "Smooth Vertices".
It looks fine then.
But unfortunately I can't edit my Model in Blender because it destroys the Rig.
Is there a fast way to remove all the doubles, connect the vertices and smooth the edges in Maya?
This is how it should look like:
Could you help me out with that please?
I'm completely now to Maya... A Explaination for newbies would be awesome!
EDIT:
I don't want to use the "Polygons => Smooth" function because it looks ****ty (especially the textures) later. I just want to smooth out the edges a little bit
