The people at Looking Glass have created a holgraphic display. They also did work on making this hardware usable as a viewport for Maya. Having this holographic viewport available would augment the modeling and animation workflow in Maya LT.
They already are in advanced stages of development of the plugin for Maya. Support from Autodesk could bring this feature to Maya LT.
