Hello,
Can you please add the ilrPolyColorPerVertex TURTLE shader to Maya LT ?
Just to demonstrate why this is a good thing to have:
- I create a high resolution mesh in ZBrush Core for example
- I poly paint on the model (it has no UV map - so painting a texture is not possible.)
- I export the model as .obj with vertex colors (can't import this directly into Maya LT)
- I use Meshlab (free software) to convert the obj with vertex colors to Collada .dae
- I import the .dae file into Maya LT
- I select the hi poly mesh in object mode
- I click 'Mesh Display -> Toggle Display Colors Attribute' - color per vertex now visible in Maya LT on the model 🙂
- I retopologize and make a create a low poly model
- I UV unwrap the low poly model
- I want to TURTLE bake:
source: the vertex colors from the high poly model
destination: a texture in the low poly model
If I use the default phong shader this doesn't work.
In full Maya connecting the ilrPolyColorPerVertex node into the shading network makes vertex colors visible in Turtle render output.
If you want I can add some pictures and sample files to demonstrate this in detail.
Thanks a lot for considering,
Jacob
