What setting determines the selection distance in orthographic viewports?

Hi,

In large scenes, there seems to be a limit to the distance that I can make selections in orthographic view-ports.

I'll illustrate:
HelpMaya.jpg

I've used marquee selection in the bottom right view-port, to attempt to select all of the top most vertices of my building.
But if you look at the other three viewports, there is a section of un-selected top verts.
This only happens in orthographic viewports, and only if my building gets quite big; if I scale the whole building down, it will select all verts.

Does anyone have a clue as to what is driving this distance based selection?
It does not seem to be clipping plane settings, nor anything in the preferences/selection window.

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

I've investigated this further and while there are selection tool settings that can change selection methods, the mode that should capture all nodes does seem to "fall off" and select less nodes on especially large models. I will document this for future reference, and a possible improvement opportunity; thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Thank you very much!
I appreciate you looking into, and documenting it.
