Mesh Generation on CSV file

Is there a way to generate 3D assets based on CSV file input?  The goal would be to create thousands of assets based on a few static mesh variables.  Is there a better way?  I'm new to Maya, so I'm all ears.

I'm not sure I understand your question.  Yes you can import CSV files with come custom scripts as curves and use the curves to generate some geometry.

Here is a post that might shed some light on what you are asking.  http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-forum/how-to-import-csv-data-in-maya/td-p/4248074

You might also be thinking of using the new SVG tool which can take curves and create geometry from them.  It does have some limitations, and your curves have to be a certain format..

Best of luck in your projects.  I think what you are trying to accomplish would be best done with Xgen and or Mash.. yet I don't know what kind of assets you are talking about.
