Maya 2018 LT Bug?

Hello Maya enthusiast, students, and professionals,

I never had any issue with Maya in general with my 4 year experience.  I downloaded Maya 2018 LT, the first LT installed/used on my computer but I am unable to move the xyz coordinates with the LMB (scale, translate, rotate)  this is extremely frustrating and cannot locate any issues of users from the past.  Is there a plug-in or update I am missing?  I have deleted the prefs folder to set things back to default ( although this is my second day using the 2018 maya LT, theres not much personal customizations saved to corrupt .exe of maya's viewport window.

Please let me know and any help is appreciated.

P.S I have also attached a dropbox link to demonstrate the issue.

Hi @Anonymous

Thank you for posting. We have had several reports of this issue with 2018 (full version and LT) and our development team is hard at work on a fix 🙂 In the meantime, here are some workarounds that we would suggest:

  1. Reset Maya Preferences
  2. Confirm that GPU is on Certified Hardware List
  3. Update GPU Drivers
  4. Ensure the NVidia nView desktop manager is not enabled (causes problems for many applications)
  5. Set MAYA_ENABLE_LEGACY_VIEWPORT to 1 to show the legacy Viewport (VP1) options in Maya
  6. Switch to OpenGL Legacy Render Engine in your Preferences window:

Please let me know if any of the above suggestions resolves the problem 🙂 If not, I would be happy to continue working with you until we get it figured out.

Hi @Anonymous

Happy to hear that resolved the issue! 🙂 Thank you for selecting your solution as well, that helps other Maya users find answers should they run into the same issue.

Please do not hesitate to post again should a new issue arise 🙂 I would be happy to help!
