"Nearest" option does not work in "Import Weights" and also could have Copy Deformer Weights in Deform menu

I discovered this the other day while trying to copy my deformer weight painting from one mesh to a similar one. My character has a jumper/sweater and a T-shirt in different scenes and I use some wire deformers to help add some definition around the clavicle area. Having got the weight painting how I wanted for the jumper I thought it would be a simple process to apply the painted deformer weights to the T-shirt. Although the vertices are almost in the same place the vertex order is different after the modelling process. Anyway, I thought I could use Deform>Export Weights... and Deform>Import Weights... with the 'Nearest' option turned on but it doesn't work; the weights remain unaffected. After some friendly advice in a support case it turned out I could use the MEL command 'copyDeformerWeights' with certain flags and it worked. So there is clearly a bug here in the UI but the underlying functionality seems to exist as the MEL command proves. Surely it would be a simple fix/update to connect the two.

Also, we then wondered why that same functionality was not present in the Deform menu. Mirror Deformer Weights is there (which uses the same MEL command and closest point does work for that). Why not have Copy Deformer Weights in the same menu to allow copying weights from one mesh to another mesh, as long as the 'Nearest' option also works. In the Skin menu you have both options to Mirror and Copy weights - why not in the Deform menu too?
