Outliner should be like windows file explorer

The outline is hard to organize,  should be able to break it down into sections.

It has a nice  function already "Window Layout" which is a great addition. Also color coded nodes and separators.

What is this window layout of which you speak?  And how do I access it?

Is this new in 2022? I have Maya 2020 and I don't see it.  Also I can't find anything online about it..

Yes this is for 2022, Autodesk will only review ideas for future releases of Maya, there won’t be anything new for 2020. This new update has made the Outliner much more manageable when working with large environment scenes.
