**this is not a serious tool, I wrote this hungover on a Saturday. Please request Autodesk to make something better for Maya.
Graphing nodes in Maya's node editor is less than unpredictable. Often time, I would rearrange the graph to my liking, only to have maya destroy it. These are the first steps towards making the node manager less crazy, and having a finer level of control over what gets moved, when and to where.
TODO: sort/graph by node inputs, and array attr indices on selected nodes
**Currently only supports the first tab in a node editor
**Not fully ready to release the source yet, but this could use some testing. So you probably shouldnt use it at all, lol.
I personally think that expandable and minimizable backdrop nodes would also be good, they would have the advantage that you can choose at any time to see all nodes at once or blend out (minimize) parts.
it's should no longer be the case that these amateur scripts made for better software than maya out of the box. This stuff is not complicated and should have been in place about 5 years ago.
Hello @tj.galda and thank you for your reply and consideration about this matter. Is there a way we can have our hands on at LookDevX and is it already released? Having to test it would be really nice so we can provide an in-depth and detailed feedback about it. This could be a game changer when it's implemented in Maya by default. Thanks in advance by the way.
We're excited by the plans too, there's been a lot of work going in to make this right instead of rushing something out quickly. As we get closer, we'll be posting it to our beta forums much like other features to make sure we get a lot of user feedback at the right time.
Hello @tj.galda! thanks for the news and keeping us up-to-date with everything. Looking forward on the improvements and thank you for your hard work so this can be implemented in the future :))
