Hello,

I have been using Maya professionally for 10 years now.  This is one of the buggiest pieces of technology I've seen implemented in that time.  I absolutely loathe my decison to use this in production for our character's hair.  So many different errors pop up with it I can't begin to list them.  Here's one of the latest:

// Error: XGen: Bad description name given to iGroom: groom_Navy_Male_04_Hair //
# Traceback (most recent call last):
# File "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2015\plug-ins\xgen\scripts\xgenm\xmaya\xgmExternalAPI.py", line 1658, in igExportMaps
# mel.eval( 'iGroom -xm "%s" -tpu %f -in %d -fx %d -d "%s";' % (fullPath,tpu,instMeth,forceExport,igdesc) )
# # RuntimeError: Error occurred during execution of MEL script
line 1: XGen: Bad description name given to iGroom: groom_Navy_Male_04_Hair

And in addition to that, the UI in the Attribute Editor just randomly freaks out and won't show tabs in the Preview/Output section!  It's unreal how buggy this piece of tech really is.  I hope you can finally get this sorted out in 2016.  I'm on 2015 SP6 and I've almost missed quite a few deadlines troubleshooting this nightmare.

If you have any advice, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Justin

Here's another xgen error I get on scene load:

# Exception AttributeError: "type object 'PySide.QtGui.QWidget' has no attribute '__del__'" in <bound method MapExpressionUI.__del__ of <xgenm.ui.widgets.xgExpressionUI.MapExpressionUI object at 0x0000000057E07388>> ignored
