Xgen: Can’t create ptex map in primitive color (preview/output)

I'm trying to create a ptex map to color my fur, but the map not saved. This error occurs:

RuntimeError: setAttr: Not enough data was provided. The last 2 items will be skipped.

Does anyone know what this is about?

is that the only error? Is that from the Script Editor or the Output window? Does the XGen log report anything? That error is too minimal to be much use in troubleshooting...

This error appears in the script editor. The complete command line is this:

I'm trying to color the fur of a rigged and animated character,
but when I create the ptex map this error happens.

What renderer are you using and do you have a non default Maya material attached to the geo? Unfortunately, the artisan paint tool can fail to initialize of non maya materials are attached to the surface you wish to paint on.

Try attaching a default lambert and painting the map again. It's possible to use a maya material for the VP and  the non maya material for rendering by hooking up the  maya material to the render materials Surface Shader slot on the shading group node.

Hi, thanks for the reply,

I've tried this alternative, but it does not work either. I suspect that there is some problem with the mesh of my character, because when I try with another polygon object does not happen this error.

Did you find out how to fix this? I just have the exact same issue.
