I have Maya installed on my laptop which I tend to move around and hook to different secondary monitors very frequently, but when working with a single monitors whatever window I try to open doesn't show on my screen.
Example: Whenever I try to open outliner or any other window separately even the extended list for the "modifiers", Maya behaves as if that window is open and I need to re-click into Maya to regain focus onto it (as if I switched to a different window that is), but the window I was trying to open never shows! In fact even when I hook my laptop to HDMI for example, the same thing happens and the window doesn't show on either of the screens. But when connected to a second monitor through VGA (which was the first interface I used to connect a second monitor and use Maya), the windows that I'm trying to open will show up on that monitor.
P.S. I have checked my display settings and there is no other screen detected by Windows 8 when I'm not connected to any, yet the behavior persists.
