When Loading File, Xgen collections appear in Outliner but not on viewport

Please help when I opened my saved file my Xgen hairs stopped appearing on my model, and it's saying to create a new description like I'm starting over.

 

PLEASE HELP I DONT HAVE TIME TO START ALL OVER!!

this can happen if you dont set the maya project.

or if you rename the objects in your scene.

or move the maya file to a diffrent place.

or your objects are in a diffrent namespace.

 

from your outliner i see this is a really messy scene.

you should clean it up before starting with xGen.

happened to me when maya crashed and i was trying to reopen autosave. guides were there but not in the viewport. What helped was moving autosave file in the folder with the file that was lastly working well (there should be link to desc i col file too. also as someone mentioned before setting project is supper important - it has to be same as when last working setting
