Viewport textures way too dark!

Textured objects in my viewport are way too dark. This was never like this in Maya 2019. I need to crank exposure to 5 before I can see my objects which completely blows out my viewport. How the hell am I suppose to work like this???

Hello siebejanssen,

looks like someone else had the same issues with this on a different post but here is a link to that https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-forum/viewport-texture-brightness-very-dark/td-p/4227972

If the issue is still occurring then I would try to switch your "View transform" from sRGB gamma(legacy) to something else. I have added a image of what my default setting are for an example. Also Ill add in this link to autodesk "Choose a view for previewing"  for reference. https://help.autodesk.com/view/MAYACRE/ENU/?guid=GUID-A9CA3572-FAFA-440D-92EB-37566A2DFE0B

Hopefully this helps you out with your problem.

Apparently they've changed some of the viewport but you can try to adjust with the new Viewport 2.0 rendering setting Default Lighting>Light intensity....

From Chaos Group...."Autodesk has made this change in order to reach parity with PBR shading models and lighting in different renderers and to allow a better transition to an image based lighting by default and a hydra based viewport."

see if that helps.
