Vertex colour preservation in mash distribution

Hi,
I'm distributing am object over another mesh using mash.
It's for technical art in a game and it's important that the vexed colours of the distributed object are preserved. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be happening. It looks like the distributed instances have no vertex colour data.
Am I missing something, or is there some way to fix this?
