UV Editor - Lock texture shown

Hello, when using the UV Editor and under "Textures" selecting the texture to be shown so that I can adjust the UV just disappears after I click somewhere else in the viewport. And everytime I click on the mesh face again I have to set the texture in the UV Editor from new which is really annoying. I dont know if I explained this clear enough so I attached a short video regarding my purpose.
Is there a way to kinda "lock" the current texture shown in the UV Editor or do I have to select it all the time again?
