I would like to use Maya to make an animation for a 3D Animation Competition in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). There is a competition for 3D animation but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to use the student version for this competition. I would love to use Maya as I am able to get scholarships for winning nationals. Also I was wondering if there was any way I could get more "Training" In the use of maya. Please let me know thanks!

Probably not.  The EDU license is intended for personal learning purposes only.  Using it for a personal show reel/portfolio is a grey area, but entering competitions is really pushing it.  Might be prohibited by the competition in the first place - check to see if they require "proper" licensing as well (it wouldn't surprise me if they have verbiage to exclude entries from pirated copies, for example).   Getting dodgy with licensing terms wouldn't exactly be "future business leader" material...

"I don't know" is the beginning of knowledge, not the end.

What if this competition is for school? Not sure if that would change anything... thanks for the help!
