Using an Ortho Camera with Persp-style movements

Hi!

Is there way to use an orthographic camera without annoying free orbit around all axis? Just as perspective camera.

I tried to lock camera's Y axis, but it works not so smooth as in perspective...

I wrote in first post that I was trying to lock the ortho camera's Y axis, but it moves not so smooth as in perspective.

It's not the best workaround, but there is no alternatives...

Hope for unified persp/ortho camera behavior, as in 3ds Max.

Hi, forgive me for the thread necro but I'm having this exact issue in Maya 2022 and can't find any solution, nor much discussion of it online. It seems that an unlocked orthographic camera, when tumbled left and right across the viewport, treats the world axis most perpendicular to the camera as the up-axis. I, like Br0ken1334, want to tumble an orthographic camera in the exact same way as a perspective camera, where tumbling left and right across the viewport rotates about the Y axis, no matter the camera's pitch. Not sure if this is a bug, an oversight, or by design but any insight would be helpful. Let me know if I need to clarify, the language around this issue can make it hard to explain concisely. TIA
