Textured mesh

Hi all. I am new to Maya and can't figure something out. I have a FBX mesh file, a textured FBX file, and a texture PNG. What is the difference between the textured FBX and the textured PNG? Can I UV map the PNG over the textured mesh? Thanks for reading!

Hi!

That sound a bit confusing.

1. You can use any image, also .PNG as a texture for a mesh.

2. You can assign a new texture to any mesh even if it already has one applied.

3. You can change UV mapping as you like.
