Hi, using Maya2026 on win10/11.
My goal is to model the demi sphere with a cylindrical hole in the middle (see video, model on the left).
Whenever i do this sequence maya freezes and i must restart it to move forward.
Create sphere.
Go to face mode and delete the bottom half.
Go to edge mode, select the bottom edge loop and bridge hole.
At this point i have water tight demi-sphere.
Then select the top middle vertex at the top of the demi-sphere.
Expand selection twice, convert the selected vertices to faces.
Call the "Smart Extrude" tool and move the faces down in the hope to create the intended geometry.
Not only doesn't it work, but Maya freezes.
Note: since then i learn a completely different way to model this successfully, but that's not the point.
