Rendering using Arnold freezes Maya temporarily

I am a student using Maya 2023 for college. I have been using the Arnold render provided without any issues until about a month ago. I do not know if arnold or maya was updated but I noticed it took longer for Maya to begin rendering the scene using Arnold. The render time itself was fine, but the process of initiating the render would freeze Maya in windows. I could do other things on my computer but task manager would show Maya as unresponsive. Between one and five minutes, Maya would suddenly become responsive and render the scene as expected.

 

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Maya and Arnold for Maya drivers multiple times to no success. I am confused what other options I have.

 

Windows 10

Ryzen 9 5900x

RTX 3060ti drivers updated

64 GB ram

 

Maya is 2023 version. Runs just fine, renders the Maya software and hardware versions without issue.

Have you tried to set the cores for the ui to 3.?

I found that solution online but it makes no difference for me, unfortunately.

Depending on your scene preparing the data could take some time. Converting textures, creating hair geo, creating displacements, compiling shaders. 

 

Could you post an Arnold log please.

Unfortunately the freezing seems irrelevant to the size of the scene. I could throw a sphere with a light and arnold would freeze before rendering too. In fact, here's the info message I get when I render just that.
