Reinstall Errors

I just tried a full uninstall and reinstall and now when I try running Maya it's not loading Arnold and all the shelves are blank. Here are the errors in the log bar:maya_2018-11-29_20-09-34.png

Here's the full log in the Script Editor:

// Error: file: C:/Users/.../Documents/maya/2018/prefs/shelves/shelf_Sculpting.mel line 41: Invalid flag '-flexibleWidthType' //
// Warning: The shelf "Sculpting" has items that cannot be read. //

file -f -new;
// Warning: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2018/scripts/startup/rememberViewportSettings.mel line 29: Active stereo does not work with Aero enabled. Active stereo has been disabled. //

// Error: line 1: Cannot find procedure "shelfInitCallback". //
onSetCurrentLayout "Maya Classic";
// Warning: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2018/scripts/others/supportRenderers.mel line 64: The renderer "arnold" used by this scene, is not currently available. The "mayaSoftware" renderer will be used instead. //

I tried running a repair and running another reinstall, this is driving me crazy.

My first instinct would be to reset the Maya prefs

In the meantime let me further check to see if there's something more concrete I can provide.

Okay, figured it out. I had to delete my preferences folder --> C:\Users\...\Documents\maya\2018\prefs

I'm guessing it was leftover from my previous installation of 2018.4 and must have had something incompatible with the 2018 version.

There should be some kind of option to delete user preferences either in uninstalling or reinstalling, or at least a warning somewhere that leftover preference files from different updates may case errors.
