Redshift Plug-in won’t load on the secondary account on my home computer

So i have spend a long time, (mulitple days) trying to figure out why i can’t load my redshift plug-in on my computer at home. It is kinda important that i fix this as soon as possible as i’m forced to stay at home for a couple of days.

I tried alot of stuff like reinstaling Redshift and Maya multiple times while cleaning everything regarding them from my pc between each try, making my windows account administrator, etc.

When i browse for the plug-in in the plug-in manager i get this error message:

// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2022/scripts/others/pluginWin.mel line 934: Unable to dynamically load : C:/ProgramData/Redshift/Plugins/Maya/2022/nt-x86-64/redshift4maya.mll
The specified module could not be found.
//
// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2022/scripts/others/pluginWin.mel line 934: The specified module could not be found.
(redshift4maya) //
// Warning: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2022/scripts/others/pluginWin.mel line 937: Could not load C:/ProgramData/Redshift/Plugins/Maya/2022/nt-x86-64/redshift4maya.mll as a plug-in //

I looked up terms like: The specified module could not be found. and i got some answers like:
check you Maya.env file and change stuff which for me is a empty file.

Please just someone help me. I pay good money for both Maya and Redshift and i already wasted so much time trying things to work.

You cannot manually load it. Redshift ships as a module, right?
If you don't see Redshift in the Plug-in Manager, that means Maya did not find the Redshift module file.

What did Redshift support say? How about the Redshift forums?

Hey Stephen,
I have asked on the Redshift forums but i can't seem to get a (helpful) answer.

"If you don't see Redshift in the Plug-in Manager, that means Maya did not find the Redshift module file."
But the problem with that is that when i switch to a different account on this PC MAYA CAN find the plugin.

So the installation seems fine right? Like why does it work on the one account and not the other?

Permissions is the usual suspect.

Looking at https://docs.redshift3d.com/display/RSDOCS/Maya+Plugin+Configuration, it seems that Redshift (a competitor to the product I support 😉 does not use a module file. Most likely it updates Maya.env, which is in a user-specific location.
