Hi Guys,
I want to export an FBX model with media embedded as i want to upload my model to sketchfab.
When i try to do this on Maya i get the error "The plug-in does not support the following material types:
Material Body_T will be exported as a grey Lambert material." etc. The media embedded are PNG maps made in Substance Painter which i've applied to Standard Surface Materials within Maya.
My Maya is 2020 so could the plug in really be outdated, also which plug in is this in reference to?
Done some googling and experimenting but i can't seem to figure out the issue? Probably something simple but i'm stumped and i'm sure someone out there knows better than me.
Also when i took a look at the exported model, the normal map applied seems to have somehow applied to the lambert which was made, not sure if this means anything.

Hello @Y.THOMAS5BST2,
thanks for this post! You can apply a Phong material with the textures connected and test if the FBX export works better. Alternatively you could try this workflow: Exporting a model from Maya to Substance Painter using FBX Export.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Patrick
Actually it's not that at all. I've applied blinn, phong lambert, and it's still reporting this error.
I had 4 floors, and they shared the same material.
The solution was to apply different shader (used phong) to each, and then it worked without reporting error.
Change one of them to blinn, still works nicely.
Hi i am facing the same problem at the moment, please if you find any solution regarding this issue do post it here. Thank you
