Physical Sun and Sky in orthographic views?

Getting a REALLY washed out render in my orthographic top view. Tried researching it online but not much available. Have exhausted everything I know. Adjusted the exposure nodes gamma. Manually loaded the PS&S simple exposure node into Mental Rays lens shader slot. And on and on. Could use a little help.

Are you using linear workflow and color management tools? have you reduced the gamma to 1.0 instead of the default 2.2?

The gamma nodes are just relevant for color swatches, everything else should be handle by Maya as it renders.

Can you describe more of your set up process?

First off, thanks for your help. It much appreciated. I'm not using Color Management or linear workflow. Really not necessary for this particular project. I did reduce gamma down to about 1.3 from 2.2. I'm going to head into work today and try a few more things. I'd like to ask you to try something, if you don't mind. Create a simple top view orthographic scene. Create a simple sphere and apply the Mental Ray Car Paint material. Set Mental Ray as the renderer using the "Production" preset in the Quality menu. Now assign the Physical Sun & Sky lighting setup and see if you get the same flashed out result I'm getting.

Here's my test in 2015, top camera view and mia_car paint....I see no problems in my render.

If you want you can zip an MB file and post it here .
