Performance lag or freezing in Maya

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I want to post here my problem, cross my finger this issue will be solved.
I brought this new workstation approximately one year ago.
My system includes:
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X 32-Core Processor 3.69 GHz
Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070
Install ram 64 GB
Operating System Windows 10
Using Maya 2022 and 2020 .
The first time I notice this odd problem was when I just receive this new PC and want to challenge the processor
and see how fast it can give me nice and clean results and how it will respond compare to my old PC .
I notice this issue first on the rendering side when I press render and send I command to Maya
it took Maya around 2-4 seconds to start to do the operation of the render which was very unexpected.
My old PC react faster than this beast which was so weird for me,
I went to the store and ask them to make double-check, they make more tests and they said it works perfectly.
Recently I notice there is this lagging issue when duplicating my model, it takes Maya around half a second or second to duplicate my model m which is not with a high amount of polygons,
This lagging also happened in the UV Editor when selecting a shall.
I have no idea if this is related to my hardware or the software I use, in Maya it's very noticeable.
I try to follow this guide here :https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Laggy-per...
but remain with the same problem, didn't uninstall Maya because I know this issue was since I got this new PC
I use Wacom pro with old driver that works for me, hard to believe there is an issue with this.
eventually, I stuck with the problem for a year .
Almost decided to live with it

Will be so grateful if someone can help me with this

Captured behavior seems "normal" to me, 20secs is much, yet still. Is it same long with simple sphere?

As I understand, rendering, especially IPR, before you see the first pixel, requires multi-step prepping:

getting mesh data, loading and decompressing texture data, etc into mem;

transferring/feeding the data into rendering module;

calcing AO, shadows, refrs and refls.

Depending on the complexity of scene data, the format textures are kept on HDD, the output resolution - these are just some of the aspects that influence speed, test with simpler setups, compare the response times. The OutputWindow also gives render times/mems summary.

The captured scene as multiple Displacement maps of 2K which probably makes it slower to calculate.
I have experienced lagging without a Displacement map as well of a couple of seconds
Here it's very noticeable.
When bring a simple model and try to render it almost starts immediately which means
it's the scene "issue" I presume.
Maybe need to find a better way to organize my TX files

Yes, long story short, renders have to be optimized.

Displacement is in the top rendertime consumers.

Here, at least consider re-calculating the bounding-box scale.

The second take is almost instant, the difference enviably is stark, yet I can't comment much anyway, sorry.

Firsthand, run some and same performance benchmarks for both workstations to ensure the similarity with your workstations is really there.

Then, see it as an equation with many variables: eliminate the ones on both sides that are REALLY equal; the differences might be the tells where the dealbreaker/s is/are.

Here, even you both might have same Maya version and same scene file, yet you'd ensure that user prefs e. g. loaded plug-ins are identical. And, for the comparison purposes, better use the default UI config (predefined layouts) too. Pay attention to if is it freshly started Maya and if is it the first time you run the render, as presence/absence of some cache files might influence the performance too.

Best of luck to you, I am curious to hear about your finds, and it would be beneficial for all Maya users.
