Need help with the Connection Editor

 I've been following a tutorial for my own project. It's great and easy to follow. Except I have a problem when I get to parts where I have to use the connection editor in Maya.

Everytime I open the editor, I don't have the same inputs that are shown in the tutorial.  You can see in my screen, my connection inputs are almost empty, while the ones in the tutorial are comepletly full. It does this no matter what I open the editor with. Obviously there are some setting in Maya that are mixed up on my end. I would really appreciate some help with what is going on.
