Move, Scale or Rotate UV shell using not UV Toolkit skews UV?

For some reason, when I try to move, scale or rotate UV or UV shells using the move/scale/rotate tools, the UVs gets kind of boxed in and ends up moving in a weird way, skewing the UV. However, if I use the "transform" in UV toolkit, everything's fine.

Your video show you are in Edge mode, reset your tool

thanks for the reply but hmmm... I believe I only switched to edge mode between 0:15 and 0:19 to cut an edge, and I switched back to UV shell immidietly afterwards, or maybe holding right click and choosing "UV shell" is not enough? if so, how should i switch to UV/UV shell mode?

here's an even longer video of me struggling doing things to my uv and me switching between a variety of selection modes (UV, uv shell, edge, faces, etc) if it helps.

You have transform constraint mode in Blue set to Edge, set it to off.

Also start working on UVs using the scale , move and rotate tools, not the Toolkit menu.

Note that the transform tools also have Transform Constraint, make sure is off....although sometimes Maya still seems to turn it to Edge mode.

Thanks a lot, it's the transform constraint. Problem solved!
