Mel command works as shelf button but not as runtime command? ( timelineCopyKey )

Really killing my workflow speed here in Maya 2020, very strange bug I"ve encountered.

For some reason every time I try to bind a keyboard shortcut to copykeys or timelineCopyKey it will only copy all keys on the timeline, not what I have selected.

I've taken the exact mel script and made a shelf button, works fine, copies the selection like it should...then I take that same exact code, make a runtime command and bind a keystroke to it, now it only copies all the keys on entire timeline, not just the selection.

Anyone know why a mel command would work properly on the shelf and then not as a keyboard shortcut?

Thanks 🙂

It's hard to says what going on with your script without seeing it. But I think need a

$current_frame = currentTime -query;

to get just one frame and copy it.
