Maya2017sp4 'local rotation axis' not updated correctly

How to reproduce:

1 - Create 2 joints in front view.

2 - Select both and show their rotate axes (Display > Transform Display > Local Rotation Axes)

3 - select top joint

4 - go to attribute editor

5 - type say 45 in Rotate Axis field for z-coordinate and hit Enter

6 - no type 0 back in the ame field

In the viewport rotation axes are incorrectly updated - although z is set back to 0 axes do not go back to original position.

Hi!

Thanks for the detailed steps, but here it works (on PC).

Viewport Mode?

What happens if you change Viewport to Legacy Default?

Your Graphic Hardware? Driver up to date?

Hi!

Changing values for Transform Attributes -> Rotate Axis should not change the display of Local Rotation Axis which is based on Pivot Axis and Orientation.

Anyway there is something wrong.

Please report this problem (bug?) to Autodesk.
Help -> Speak Back -> Report a Problem

Paste this into your MEL script editor then middle mouse drag it onto your rigging shelf. This will select the LRA of the joint you have selected. Cheers!

string $tempSelection[] = `ls -sl`;
print $tempSelection[0];
select -r ($tempSelection[0]+".rotateAxis");
