Maya with MacOS 'Spaces' stalls rendering when leaving Maya Space

I have already posted this issue at Chaos Group´s side but haven´t had any reply so far. Thought it might be interesting to hear what Autodesk says to this.

I am working with Maya (currently 2020.4 and 2022.2) on a Mac Pro 7.1 with MacOS Big Sur 11.6. I use Spaces, where I can basically have multiple desktop surroundings. For me a great way to orginize my workspaces.

However, when I render an animation and I switch the spaces or leave the Maya space and go for instance to a browser or whatever at a certain point the render does not keep going on. It just stalls / stops until I switch back to that space where Maya is active. This is not like just switching the spaces for seconds, you have to seriously work on something differenet and remember your rendering, go back and realize it is still on the same frame. Mostly what I could recognize is, that the "stop" happens when the system was compiling geometry. First I thought it was only on heavy scenes (50. mio polys +) but this week I had a fairly simple scene a million polygons and same thing happened again.

This is very bizarre and I have no clue other than to stay in that space. Btw - this only happens in viewport rendering.

The next thing is bothering me really hard. When I start a rendering in Viewport / Framebuffer and I leave the company in the evening and get back next day, the rendering must have stopped at some point and immediately resumes when I log in. We have deactivated all energy settings and we run caffeinate script in terminal with no success. At one certain time, Maya stops rendering but resumes when I log back in.

I would really like to hear if anyone has experienced similar behaviour.

Thanks in advance and for your time
