Maya UV Unfold Circumference, Circle Problem

I'm modelling an Orc, trying to create UV for his head (using Unfold), so I just made any projection, planar for example:

The back UV Cut:

And theoretically I am set to create the Unfold, but, when I try look what happens:

Could anyone help me with this issue?

Reference of correct Head Unfold UV (what should happen):

So that is the expected behavior for a spherical projection.  Do yourself a huge favor and use the bonus tools to unwrap your UVs.  It just takes a few min. to install and learn how to work with it, but it is a way, way better tool than anything maya has to offer in it's default toolbox.  Why are bonus tools "bonus tools"?  Why don't they come standard?  Because Autodesk, that's why.

The default values are just fine.  You will want to run an optimization and a symmetry function after.  Just lookup maya bonus tools UV unwrap on youtube.  There are a number of walk-throughs.  Don't be afraid to just make a backup of your file and play around a bit with settings.  In the end you will have to futz around with them anyway, but this is a great start.
