The third-party versions have the same features and functionality as the full versions, including the built-in Arnold renderer. However, the 3rd party subscription to 3ds Max and Maya does not include a license for the Arnold renderer. It turns out that Arnold can't be used in these versions? Or will Arnold be available with restrictions?

what 3rd party subscription? Arnold is owned by Autodesk

there is a free license version of Arnold that comes with Maya & 3ds Max with limitation (ex: the local version of Arnold for Maya (MtoA) only works interactively within Maya. Network and Batch rendering are not available without a license, and images will appear with a watermark)

Hi!

@DarrenP  is basically correct, but let me explain this a bit different.

A Maya subscription does NOT include an Arnold license.

For rendering with Arnold inside Maya (without watermarks) no extra Arnold license required.

If you want to use Batch rendering you need an Arnold license.
