maya crash and xgen not working anymore

Maya crashes and my project of xgen is not working anymore it doesn't show the hair anymore in the viewport even when I try to render with Arnold it freeze completely. and when i hit the button for update the viewport it takes 10 minutes  like this and it doesn't show anything.

Have you tried lowering the density of the xgen description ? Also is your character to a correct scale in cm ? If he is very big with that density this could cause xgen to generate a very huge amount of hairs that maya couldn't handle

There is a way to fix the scale even if i have my scalp with guides and everything on it?
