Maya 2022.3 Crashes when I start HyperShade

Maya 2022.3 Crashes when I open HyperShade. I am using Paint Effects converted to meshes, aiJitter, fluids, and MASH. Fluids has the most impact on the crashing. I can reopen the file if I import it, this allows Maya to start without the Hypershade window. I believe it is the Graph editor section of the Hypershade that causes the crashes. It seems to get overwhelmed with nodes at times. I wish you could use the Hypershade without the graph until you want to use it. There is no way to close the Graph editor.  I am using this command to clear the Graph white the Hypershade is open:

hyperShadePanelGraphCommand("hyperShadePanel1", "clearGraph");

Maya crashes for me immediately when opening Hypershade, even from a fresh start. Deleting my local userPrefs.mel file and letting Maya re-generate will resolve the problem temporarily.
Somewhere a setting is getting saved into the optionVars in userPrefs.mel that results in the crash.

My solution to the problem is to run this code after Maya starts up

from maya import mel
mel.eval("showMinorNodes -false;")
