Maya 2019 object translating issue

I reinstalled Maya 2019 and began to experience strange issues.    I created a Poly Cylinder just to check to make sure everything was working.   I tried to translate the object when the problem appeared.

-There are no lights in the scene.

I've attached a screenshot to illustrate what is happening.
The object is selected but when I drag the move tool the cylinder turns white, remains in place and only the move tool moves.  When I deselect the move tool only then does the cylinder snap to the new location.

I did reset the move tool options but nothing has changed.  I restarted Maya as well but to no effect.

If somebody has any suggestions to share I would appreciate your input.

Thank you.

Maya certified hardware? If you have the latest video drivers, have you checked older, not too old ones?

Hi

Sorry for the late reply.  I didn't receive any notice of your letter.

Yes, all of my drivers are up to date.  In fact, a few days later the problem vanished and everything appears to be working normally.    Glitch?  I'm starting to think so.

Thanks again.

Occasionally, I experience a similar issue, just without the white thing, and it "resolves" restarting Maya. Because of the white color, I assumed it is driver issue, as sometimes, especially earlier on cheaper (uncertified) nVidia geForces I've seen various issues (no UI elements, freezing etc) that I was lucky to solve by picking the right version of the drivers.

For some reason the issue has resolved itself.   Another mystery of Maya I suppose.

Thanks again.
