Maya 2018 student version keeps crashing when creating geometry

Hello,

Maya 2018 keeps crashing on me..

Everytime I click 'create a polygon...(any polygon)' I go to the channel editor and click to edit the values, then the student message pops up, then the crash report window pops up

Everytime I click create a polygon this happens, even in a new scene, even when I use interactive creation, I just click the channel editor and immediately it crashes

I'm using a Macbook Pro, High Sierra, just updated to the latest OS update

Can I download the Maya updates for the student version?
