Maya 2018 file corrupting when saved. Error supportrenders.mel line 26

Hi, I am an animation student and I was working on a scene in Maya 2018 on my MSI laptop when I saved the night before and reopened my file this morning I encountered this message in the script editor(I condensed the message because they repeat):

 and all my references, render settings, and sometimes the material attributes were corrupted. When I tried to open render settings nothing would appear in the box. 

I have tried resetting my Maya 2018 preferences to default, saving an older version of the file from a week ago that was working fine, saving in both ma and mb, optimizing my scene before saving, checking if Arnold render plugin was checked,  and renaming my references and referencing them to the scene.

I am unable to work off older files since when I save it becomes corrupted. I am at a loss , my final is due in a week and I am not sure how to fix this issue. Thanks for your time.
