Maya 2017 hotkeys set not "sticking"

If I create a new hotkey set, it will work fine while I'm in that same Maya session. But as soon as I close and start a new Maya, it forgets the hotkey set I had selected and it goes back to "Maya Default". The actual hotkey set that I created is still there, but I need to open the hotkey editor and set to my custom hotkey manually. This seems like a bug as it didn't happen in Maya 2016 or 2016.5.

Is anyone else having this problem? If so, has anyone found a solution?

This is a known issue. See the workaround one user suggested in this thread.

Ok, that's what I've been doing as a workaround.

I actually missed that other thread, which is weird because I searched using keywords like "maya 2017 hotkeys". Go figure.

 2017 ext 2 still problem. Don`t save new hotkey on my set. Working on new created set, but not in my. Assign hotkey saved. Try - not working. Open hotkey editor and boom saved hotkey gone. Hey. What are you doing whole year? Create bugs?
