Hello there, this is my first post here.
I just wanted to let the community know about the issue I experienced and the solution I found out.
So... I was using Maya on Mac OS Sierra without problems, despite it not being supported, until recently.
I suspected I did something wrong with either preferences or mental ray things, so I kept trashing every folder I could in order to have a clean installation, but Maya still froze at start.
The error I experienced was of Maya opening the initial window and then freezing while saying " loading...", there was also a message displayed regarding the fact I'm using a Student Version of it.
None of this had something to do with the actual cause of my issue: it was Duet.
I was running a dual screen set up with my iPad every time I tried to open Maya 2017.
The moment I closed Duet, Maya opened up again.
This can be something extremely annoying to solve, over the internet I only found 1 post out of hundreds that investigated similar users' issues by questioning their dual monitors' setup.
I felt the need to let you all know about this issue, I wouldn't want you to go through the emotional distress I felt when trying to solve this 😄
