Hey all.
I've got a system with maya 2017 that I think doesn't have the latest version, though the updater seems to think we do. I cannot find the current build number anywhere on the Autodesk website, annoyingly.
Can someone with all the updates/ SP installed let me know what the currently maya 2017 build number/cut ID is? Not the service pack number, the longer, more precise build id is what I need.

I'm confused.. You ask about Maya 2017 and your image build shows Maya 2015. In addition you should be asking this type of question in the Maya forum where the Maya users are actually at.. There's not many that support this forum using Maya...

I am on 2017. That screenshot is from the Autodesk help file, just was using it to show the number I need.
And, originally, it was in the Maya forum, and was moved here by a moderator. EDIT: and now it's been moved back. That's cool. 😄
No problem... Sometimes those things happen.. Its some form of an licensing (forum) question and it also falls under the Maya forum.. However there's very limited Maya users over in the the Installation and Licensing forum so your posting may never get an answer (or most likely it will be delayed).. I just thought you would benefit from having your response answered here..
Anyhow I did some digging and if there's no SP info after the version it could mean 2 things..
1. You never applied any updates
2. Updates applied are corrupt.
Have you checked Windows/Control Panel/Program&Features/Add n Remove programs and check updates for Maya. Is there any Maya updates applied? Are you indicating you're not seeing Maya updates through the Autodesk Desktop App? If so, don't reply on that piece of bloatware...

Really, all I'm looking for is for someone with maya 2017 with all the updates installed to go to About>maya and give me a screenshot. I just want to double check that I have everything on this machine. I can't find a offical build number for the currently latest version of the software, that's all.
At this point, I've decided that it doesn't have the service packs, and have started to install them. Since it didn't pitch a fit when I started with SP1, I assume it didn't have them.
Add remove programs doesn't show any SP other than 1, which I installed about a half hour ago. Doesn't show 2, 3, or 4, which I've been installing.
This is much less about troubleshooting, and more a request for information.
Hi!
Version clearly shows the version you use, for example:
Version: Autodesk Maya 2017 Update 4
or
Version: Autodesk Maya 2018.4
You only need to install the latest Update (this includes all previous updates).
(You can also post your Cut ID here, this is just a timestamp of the latest Update build you have installed.)
Ok, so, if it doesn't have anything after the 2017, you know for sure it doesn't have the updates, got it.
My current build number is now:
Maya 2017 Update 5
201710312130-1018716
Mostly, I was trying to figure out an easier way to see if the service packs had been installed. The easiest answer seems to be "look at the launch screen, if it ain't there, you ain't got it."
I'm a freelancer, and this system they dropped me on was acting super weird, and that's why. It didn't have any of the stuff we got in the SPs.
Thank you for the info! I've marked as complete.
