Maya 2017 crashes on start up

Hi All,

Installed Maya 2017 on Windows 10 LTSB x64 whilst logged in as local administrator.

The local administrator account can open and run Maya without issue.

When logged in as any other account, local or network, Maya will crash on startup splash screen.

Have given workstation\USERS group full control permissions to all Autodesk folders found on the workstation. This has not resolved the issue.

Have deleted the Appdata folders for MAYA in default users, Administrator and an account already with issue. Then opening Maya again. New logins also still have the issue.  

Has anyone else experienced this or have an idea to a resolution.

Can you please try this workaround?

Windows:

1. Rename the prefs folder found in the following location to something like prefsOld:
   • Windows 64-bit: C:\Users\USERNAME\My Documents\maya\VERSION\
   • Windows 32-bit: C:\Users\USERNAME\My Documents\maya\VERSION\
2. Restart Maya.
3. If prompted to, choose the option to Create Default Preferences.

I too was experiencing a crash when I would start up Maya 2017, I changed the folder name as you said and it is running again. Cheers.

Hello,

My Maya 2017 crashes at startup when my Wacom Intuous Pro is plugged in. If I reboot without the wacom tablet Maya runs fine.

The Intuous pro large works fine with all my other software like:
Adobe Photoshop; After Effects; SketchBook; Zbrush; Blender; Pencil etc. but as soon I start Maya it freezes my intuous tablet and Maya itself freezes at start up.

I have contacted Wacom and they made me reinstall the Wacom Driver after I had to find and delete all relative files. The problem still existed after this and therefore it is a problem within Autodesk Maya and not Wacom.

I am running Autodesk Maya 2017 trail on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)
Processor 2,5 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 MB

Same issue here (student version), stuck on the loading default scene (seems).
I have delete the prefs file as keyner.chavarria says and Maya recreate a clear new one when i restart it.

Then it work again!

Hi, 

Maya also keeps crashing at start up as well. I renamed the pref folder.

I chose to create a default one. Maya still crashes. Any more ideas? 

I'm using Maya 2017 student Version - Mac OS X 10.12.6 - Macbookpro

It was working fine this entre time but i uninstalled then reinstalled then it stopped working.

I renamed the preferences folder "PreffsOld," and after about two minutes of having Maya open it still crashed the PC. Is there perhaps a way to set Maya to run off a different drive?
