Maya 2016 SP1 issues on 2015 files

Hi,

I've been working in Maya 2015 SP6 on Windows 8.1 Pro, Quadro K2000D, 16Gb Ram, I installed Maya 2016, and tried a 2015 file and worked fine almost twice faster fps very cool upgrade.

Next I installed the SP1, and the file I opened and saved has 2016 take almost 5 min. to open and the rigs behave a bit strange!!

I reseted the prefs, installed the latest graphic card drivers, but still the same.

Anyone had this issue, help please!

Hi @joaoalexdias,

That is a bit odd, sorry to hear that. To clarify, if you create a new model in Maya, is it exhibiting the "strange" behavior? What do you mean by the rigging is acting strangely?

Do you have "autokey" on?  We ran into a similar problem opening certain files in 2016 SP1.  If we turned autokey off before opening these files, they would open at a normal speed.

Hi Matt,

Has rflannery posted, the issue about the opening time of the files and the major crazy behaviour of the rigs was solved by disabling autokey.

Know that issue is solved, the pole vector from the IK ctrls are still are not working correctly, the are deforming (twisting)the rig.

If I select the pole Vector CTRL and do a tinny movement the knee snaps to place, but if I move to another key the pole vector deforms again, the same thing happens if in graph editor I do a Euler Filter. That issue only occur if the pole vector is in world space.

Is there an easy way to solve this issue or the rigs have to be updated?

Thanks

Thanks a lot! It solved the issue, but Im still having problems with the IK pole vector in world space, did you encounter the same problem?

I'm not sure if the IK pole vector was giving us problems or not.  We decided to stay on regular 2016, and roll back those few people who were testing SP1, because our Animators use autokey all the time.  So we weren't on SP1 long enough to run into an IK pole vector problem.

On the plus side, this issue has already been reported to Autodesk and looked into.  Hopefully the fix will make it into SP2, though there were no guarantees.

yes I agree, I'm working has an animator too (student), I installed Maya 2016 base again but the pole vector issue is the same, I'm working with Ianimate rigs, referenced to the main scene, even when I reload the reference the knee fixes, but when I move to another keyframe brakes again!! Only happens when the pole vector is oriented to world
