Maya 2012 - create render node window does not show up

UPDATE:

I came up with a solution already.

DESCRIPTION UPDATED:

Maya 2012 Hotfix 3, 64 bit, win 7 home premium

In material attribute editor, Clicking on checkerboard icon next to "color" slider, "create render node" window does not show up.

So far, opening hypershade is the solution.

Is anyone familiar with this issue?

I got this in script editor. Not sure if it is a connection issue.

defaultNavigation -createNew -destination "blinn1.color";
createRenderNode -allWithTexturesUp "defaultNavigation -force true -connectToExisting -source &#xno;de -destination blinn1.color" "";
defaultNavigation -defaultTraversal -destination "blinn1.color";

deleting folders "pref", "presets" and "scripts" in the documents > maya directory helps fix this issue.

Could the window be showing up offscreen?

Try deleting the entry for createRenderNodeWindow in windowPrefs.mel and restarting Maya.
